Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Headed for Divorce, Source Says

Hollywood power couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are reportedly on the verge of divorce, with a source close to the couple telling In Touch that Affleck has moved out of their shared home.

"The writing is on the wall – it's over," the source revealed. "They're headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben's] not to blame!"

The news comes amidst growing speculation about trouble in the couple's marriage, as they have been spotted spending increasing amounts of time apart in recent weeks. Notably, Affleck was absent from the Met Gala on May 6th, which Lopez co-chaired, with his team citing filming commitments for The Accountant 2 as the reason.

However, the insider claims Affleck's decision to skip the high-profile event was indicative of deeper issues. "He decided to call it quits," the source said, adding that the Oscar-winning actor is now "focusing on his work and his kids."

The source also suggested the dream home Affleck and Lopez spent two years searching for may need to be sold as part of the split. "They'll never stop loving each other, but she can't control him, and he can't change her. There's no way it could have lasted."

The couple, who rekindled their romance in 2021 nearly two decades after calling off their initial engagement, have faced ongoing challenges navigating their relationship in the public eye. In Lopez's recent documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Affleck admitted he wanted to avoid a "relationship on social media" but realized it was an unfair ask of his superstar wife.

"We're trying to learn to compromise," he said in the film. It appears those efforts may have fallen short.

Representatives for Affleck and Lopez have not yet responded to requests for comment on the divorce rumors. The couple share two blended families, including Lopez's 15-year-old twins Max and Emme from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony, and Affleck's three children – Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11 – from his prior marriage to Jennifer Garner.

If confirmed, the split would mark the end of one of Hollywood's most celebrated romances, affectionately dubbed "Bennifer" by fans and media. The pair first got engaged in 2002 but called off their wedding in 2003 citing excessive media attention. They each went on to marry and start families with other partners before shocking the world by reuniting in 2021 and tying the knot in a lavish ceremony just last year.

Now, it seems, the fairytale may be over once again – this time, perhaps, for good. As fans await further details on the fate of Bennifer 2.0, one thing is certain: the end of an era is upon us.
